Mostra fotografica su Ciriè
Curated by Filippo Maggia
Villa Remmert, Ciriè
14 May - 30 July 2006

With the temporary management of the redolent Villa Remmert, built in the early years of the XXth century in Ciriè, the Foundation consolidates its engagement in promoting contemporary art and bringing it closer to an increasingly larger public.
On Sunday, May 14th, Villa Remmert will open its doors to visitors with a photo exhibition whose protagonist is precisely the town of Ciriè, with its inhabitants, its buildings filmed at different times of the day and night. The portrait of a city, created by seven young artists, who were asked by Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo to survey the territory in which Villa Remmert was built. The artists are: Andreoni_Fortugno (Luca Andreoni, born in Sesto San Giovanni, Milan, in 1961, and Antonio Fortugno, born in Novi Ligure, Alessandria, in 1963 - both live and work in Milan), Andrea Cossu (born in Moncalieri in 1979, lives and works between Turin and Milan), Daniele De Lonti (born in Milan in 1959, lives and works between Milan and Pavia), Daniele Ferrero (born in Turin in 1976, lives and works in Canelli, Asti), Gianni Ferrero Merlino (born in Turin in 1976, lives and works between Turin and Milan), Luigi Gariglio (born in Turin in 1968, lives and works in Turin), Elena Givone (born in Turin in 1979, lives and works in Turin).
During the running time of the exhibition, visitors will be able to vote one work for each artist and write a comment on one of the works chosen. The most voted works will be donated by Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo to the City of Ciriè. The most inspiring thoughts will be submitted to a jury, appointed by the Foundation and by the City of Ciriè. The jury will assign the following prizes: the winner will receive several merchandising objects produced by the Foundation, the exhibition catalogue of Patrick Tuttofuoco's solo show - organized by Turin's Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo and running until June 4th - along with a museum card for the year 2007. The second and third finalists will receive one museum card for 2007.
Again on Sunday, May 14th, in addition to the events on the exhibiting program, which will be held in Villa Remmert starting from September 2006, there will be a big party in the park for children and young people accompanied by their families, and a workshop on 'traveling' and 'places' where participants will design cards about the city using creative tools such as stencil, papier-mâché, and acrylic colors.
