The exhibition, curated by Francesco Bonami and organized in collaboration with Agnes Kohlmeyer - displays a selection of photographic works chosen from the artistic production of Luisa Lambri, together with other pieces which haven’t ever been shown so far.
Luisa Lambri’s work marks her research on volumes around which it develops idea of architecture. The photographs do not underline the physical aspect of the architectural space, instead they pause on the psychological dimension of the experience through architecture. The real architecture is the architecture in which the subject manages to forget about it by becoming part of it: her photos show this symbiosis among gaze, body and space.
Luisa Lambri’s wanderings into architecture, building after building, assume the dimension of a dream by a methodical sleepwalker. The space filled by the same bluish neutral light is stripped bare of any timeframe, any reference to a site, a society or a culture. Luisa Lambri’s images are an exercise in trespassing the line between life and death, between function and ideal.
