Che cosa sono le nuvole?
Curated by Francesco Bonami
Palazzo Re Rebaudengo, Guarene d'Alba (Italy)
28 September - 9 November 1997

The exhibition takes place at the same time as Guarene Arte 97, and presents some Collection works created by Italian artists since the 1960s.
The choice to exhibit only national works from an international collection, focuses the public's attention on the 'extraterritorial' value of each work, its ability to communicate and transpose its own local identity into a wider panorama.
"Finding a hierarchy among the clouds is impossible, so for a moment I wanted to take the liberty - and the luxury - of looking at some examples of italian art in the last forty years without studying their chronological order and hierarchy. I looked at these works as if they were clouds, and asked myself questions about their meaning, savoring a feeling of wonder stripped of all superstructures". (Francesco Bonami)
