Mission and Values

Mission
The Italian contemporary art foundation Fondazione Sandretto
Re Rebaudengo was set up in Turin on 6 April 1995 and legally recognised by the Regional Government of Piedmont on 2 May of the same year.
Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo is a non-profit institution and its mission is to support and promote all areas of the arts (visual arts, music, theatre, cinema, dance, fashion and literature) and to develop relations with Italian and foreign cultural centres, public bodies, arts professionals and personalities from around the world. Its main aims are: to support and promote contemporary art and bring an ever-increasing audience closer to contemporary art. The Fondazione contributes to enhancing the value of young artists by financing the production of new work and by offering them an exhibition space in which to show it. Relations with artists always originate through their gallery or agents, as the Fondazione firmly believes in going through the correct channels, hence respecting the many individuals and institutions that link the contemporary art system.

Values
Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo is a private, non-profit institution, which sites one of its most important values as the opportunity to offer a liberal space, not bound by any commercial or political dynamics, therefore free to select artists from all over the world based purely on the quality and potential of their work. Other major values encompassed in achieving their mission are: maintaining excellence in all of their activities, protecting artists’ rights, giving them a space in which to show their work, encouraging the professional growth and passion for the arts of its members of staff and all those involved with the Fondazione, developing internal and external relations, guaranteeing loyalty to all those who support and contribute to the realisation of the Fondazione’s aims, providing a clear report of its activities and actions to stakeholders.
